QA Analyst

**This position is with our cluster partner, CBN**

The Opportunity:

Canadian Bank Note Company is looking for a QA Analyst to join our Lottery and Charitable Gaming operations in Sault Ste. Marie. In this role, you’ll perform system level verification and validation of our Charitable Gaming applications, which include our Bingo, Raffle and Video Lottery Terminal products. You’ll join a team of passionate, fun-loving people who use industry leading tools, technologies and processes to develop great, engaging software and contribute to all phases of various projects, from laying out software requirements to design, development, testing and implementation.

The Responsibilities:

Working in Linux and Windows environments and applying your knowledge of relational databases (MS SQL, Oracle), continuous integration/deployment tools (Docker, GOCD, Kubernetes), test automation tools (Selenium, Junit, Pytest), programming (Python, Javascript) skills, and ideally REST API experience, you will:
  • Design, develop and execute detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans/cases/summaries for each test level based on system requirements and design documents.
  • Identify, log and track all issues (bugs, defects, errors, etc.) that are being tested in the system.
  • Troubleshoot issues – reproduce the issue and liaise with developers and ensure that it is resolved.
  • Write, execute and maintain automated tests.
  • Write and maintain system documentation.

We don’t expect you to do it all starting on Day 1 – there will be a ramp up period where you will be expected to learn about Charitable Gaming applications and how they are set-up; become proficient in Microsoft Test Manager and all of its functions; and finally participate in active testing of a project.

The Person:

You will have a post-secondary education in a computer science/engineering field or extensive relative experience. You will, of course, possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills and enjoy the challenge of a good puzzle. You will also possess an attention to detail that is not sacrificed when faced with tight deadlines or shifting priorities, which in themselves require excellent time management and prioritization skills. Strong communication skills (both oral and written) are required as you will be liaising with various team members regularly in addition to maintaining detailed technical documentation.
